Visitors from Ghana

Bishop Edmund (r) and Canon Joseph (l) at the Church Centre, Liphook

On Sunday 7th February we were pleased to welcome suffragan Bishop Edmund Dawson-Amoah and Canon Joseph Bain-Doodu from our link Diocese of Cape Coast in Ghana. Bishop Edmund, also accompanied by local IDWAL (Inter Diocesan West Africa Link) chairman, Geoffrey Barwick, spent the morning with the Church Centre congregation. In addition to preaching and leading some worship in the Ghanian church style, he also shared news of our link parish of Diaso and, because of growth in the mission and ministry of the Anglican church in Ghana, progress in forming a new Diocese based in Dunkwa, out of the existing Diocese of Cape Coast. Although this was a short visit, it helps to build and foster our contacts with the church outside this country. We continue to value our links with Diaso and Cape Coast.
