On the first Wednesday of the month at 11 am, after Holy Communion (at 10 am), a group of us meet for Contemplative Prayer and Intercession. During the winter months we meet in the Church Centre Chapel, and in the summer months in the chancel of St. Mary’s, Bramshott.
It can be difficult sometimes to make a space in the morning, in the middle of a busy working day, but those of us who meet regularly each month, find that being still in God’s presence, waiting and listening to Him, gives us encouragement and refreshment in our prayer lives, as well fellowship together. This quiet hour with God strengthens us to carry our tasks and activities in our daily life, and is also a valuable opportunity to bring other people and their needs before Him.
Each month, whoever is leading chooses a saying of Jesus, for example “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you” (John 14:27). These Words in the Bible are firstly put into their context, and a period of silence follows. The theme is then fleshed out, and another period of silence follows, so that the Words of Jesus can speak to us personally. During the silence we allow the chosen saying to sink into our mind and then more deeply into our heart, letting the Word dwell in us richly (Colossians 3:16). We finish with a short silence and then a period of intercession.
If you feel in need of a time of quietness and stillness with God, or would like to see what we do, do come and join us. 11 am – 12 noon on the first Wednesday of each month at St. Mary’s Bramshott. From November (during the winter) we will be meeting in the new Church Centre Chapel.

Have you been bereaved recently, two years ago, five years ago or more than that? Are there times when you feel alone, lonely or missing your loved one more than you can say? Do you think those around you probably feel you should be coping better than you are? If this rings a bell then ‘Tea and Company’ could just help you? We meet once a month in the Church Centre, Portsmouth Road on the last Monday afternoon of each month between 2pm and 4pm (if a Bank Holiday then we meet the previous Monday!). Members of the Bereavement Support Team are available to talk on a one to one basis if needed.
We are a very friendly, welcoming group of men and women who enjoy each other’s company and where friendships and mutual support are blossoming.
Please join us and meet others in a similar situation. We number about 10 to 20 each month and YOU would be very welcome! If you need transport please telephone the Church Office, 01428 725390.
