Pancakes!

Each Friday we have 2 clubs for children meeting called Godzone. The 4-7 year olds meet from 4:45pm – 6pm and are called mini Godzone. The 7-11 year olds meet 6:30pm- 7:45pm and are called Junior Godzone.The pancake parties were on the nearest Friday to Shrove Tuesday. Each meeting had its own special activities. mini’s there were 20 children and there were 27 in the juniors, so in all nearly 50 children. The evening was a mixture of making pancakes, pancake tossing races, collecting the ingredients for pancakes in a relay race, A pancake and Shrove Tuesday Quiz, finding out about why we eat pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. How shrove Tuesday is celebrated around the world, and what Lent is. Each of the sessions ended with pancake eating which was greatly appreciated by all the children.
